Godzilla (1998) was a very violent movie saturated with extremely graphic deaths by animal attacks. Humans were eaten in this movie. A true nightmare-maker for the younger audiences. While the sci-fi terror can be damaging in its own right, it is easier to incorporate and dispose of than the attitude and behavior of the human actors and actresses. As is typical with PG-13 movies, Godzilla (1998) was thick with the three/four letter word vocabulary (thirty times), absolutely none of which actually contributed to the movie -- it would have been just as good without any of the language! And the movie would have been just a good had it not presented the use of God's name in vain 22 times, two of which were with the four letter expletive -- once in an exceptionally bitter manner. Also as is typical with PG-13 movies, sexual innuendo, cleavage, and vulgar discourse took their toll on the wholesomeness. However, Godzilla (1998) was a champion at keeping drugs/alcohol and murder/suicide out of the script!| Please remember we believe that if even one of the six Investigation Area scores for a movie is equivalent to the CAP comparative baseline database scoring range for R, PG-13, or PG material, the entire movie should be regarded as so rated. For example, if only Wanton Violence/Crime earns a score equivalent to R but all other Investigation Areas earn a score equivalent to G, THERE IS R-RATED MATERIAL IN THE MOVIE AND YOUR KIDS WILL SEE IT AND HEAR IT IF THEY WATCH THE MOVIE! |
